Lab Assistant / Technician (R&D) – Quality Assurance

Key Responsibilities

• To assist in Research & Development (R&D) activities for palm oil and related products.
• To carry out basic laboratory testing and analysis under supervision.
• To support experiments, product trials, and sample preparation for new product development.
• To prepare chemicals, reagents, and materials required for testing and trials.
• To record test results, observations, and data accurately in laboratory records or systems.
• To assist in maintaining proper documentation for experiments and reports.
• To ensure cleanliness, organization, and proper housekeeping of the laboratory.
• To ensure laboratory equipment is used properly and to report any malfunction or abnormal condition.
• To comply with safety requirements, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and company procedures at all times.
• To update test results, inventory records, or sample tracking information in the SAP system when required.
• To prepare samples (up to 20kg) requested by customers in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• To support pilot plant or production trial activities when necessary.
• To perform any other duties assigned by the superior from time to time.

Requirements

• Diploma in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Food Science/Technology, or related field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Basic understanding of laboratory work, testing, and safety practices.
• Willingness to learn and support R&D and product development activities.
• Basic knowledge or exposure to SAP system is an added basic requirement.
• Good attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions and SOPs.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Responsible, disciplined, and proactive attitude.

Added Advantages:

• Internship or practical training experience in laboratory or palm oil industry.
• Basic knowledge of palm oil products and testing (e.g., FFA, moisture, etc.).
• Exposure to laboratory instruments and testing procedures during studies.
• Familiarity with SAP system, Microsoft Excel, or basic data entry/reporting tools.
• Understanding of basic quality systems such as GMP, HACCP, or ISO.
• Strong interest in R&D, innovation, and product development.
• Positive attitude, fast learner, and ability to adapt in a working environment.
