Assistant Manager – Maintenance

Job Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in maintenance, preferably in the Oil & Fat, Edible Oil, Food Manufacturing, FMCG, or related process industry.
• Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices.
• Good understanding of mechanical systems, utilities, pumps, compressors, boilers, conveyors, rotating equipment, and plant machinery.
• Experience in planning and executing maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime and improve machine reliability.
• Familiar with maintenance management systems, preferably SAP PM (Plant Maintenance).
• Proficient in AutoCAD for reading and modifying engineering drawings and layouts.
• Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Basic knowledge of C Programming will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of occupational safety, health, and environmental requirements in manufacturing operations.
• Familiar with statutory requirements and liaising with regulatory authorities such as DOSH/JKKP.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good leadership and people management skills with the ability to supervise technicians, chargemen, fitters, and contractors.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision and under pressure when handling breakdown situations.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
• Willing to be on-call and attend emergency breakdowns when required.

Added Advantage

• Experience in Edible Oil Refinery, Oleochemical, Palm Oil, or Food Manufacturing Industry.
• Knowledge of ISO, GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000, RSPO, and MSPO requirements.
• Experience in managing maintenance shutdowns, plant projects, and equipment upgrades.
• Registered with BEM (Board of Engineers Malaysia) or working towards professional certification.
• Exposure to CMMS or computerized maintenance management systems.
